Global Forum for Food and Agriculture 2013

The GFFA is an international political event focusing on central issues regarding the future of the global agri-food industry, and was held for the fifth time during the International Green Week (IGW). Organisers included the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV) and the GIZ. The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of South Sudan, Hon. Dr. Betty Achan Ogwaro attended the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture and attended also the 5th Agriculture Minister Forum and Agro Africa Summit held from 17-19 January 2013, in Berlin.

The Ministers’ meetings were coordinated by the Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in l-Food Industry in case of South Sudan. H. E. Ambassador Sitona Abdalla Osman accompanied her during the all event.

Opening Ceremony International Green Week 2013

The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of South Sudan, Hon. Dr. Betty Achan Ogwaro attended the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture 2013 that was held in Berlin, Germany, from 17th to 19th January 2013. Her visit was coordinated by the Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Berlin, and in this regard H. E. Ambassador Sitona Abdalla Osman accompanied her to the several different functions, panel discussions and meetings that the Honourable Minister attended.

The Embassy organized a Business Meeting with Representatives from German companies and institutions with Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of South Sudan, Hon. Dr. Betty Achan Ogwaro to exchange information; over 30 representatives from different agriculture-related businesses and political organizations took part in the meeting.

The Embassy hosted another meeting with the members of the South Sudanese Community on the same day to have an encounter with the Hon. Minister of Agriculture. The Minister spoke to the South Sudanese Community about the current situation in South Sudan, and heard the views of the South Sudanese in the Diaspora on Republic of South Sudan, how they visualize the future of the country, their contribution to building the nation. 15 members of the South Sudanese community from Berlin and different parts of Germany attended the meeting at the Embassy.
