The Day of Open Door (Tag der offenen Tür) organized by the German Federal Government on the 30th August 2015
On 30th August 2015, the German Federal Government organized a day of open door attended by around 156,000 visitors from different countries.
In his speech the Federal Government spokesman Mr. Steffen Seibert affirmed that the Day of Open Door is a good opportunity for the federal government to present what it does and at the same time to get into a conversation with the citizens.
He further explained the different challenges facing the federal government such as the refugees’ situation. Concerning this particular issue he mentioned that until now this challenge is not adequately addressed due to its national and international dimensions.
The State Secretary Hans-Joachim Fuchtel emphasized the interdependence in today’s world and that we all share responsibility for the events that take place in it.At the Open Day at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Berlin presented a South Sudan booth where guests had the possibility to know about investment opportunities, culture as well as tourism in the Republic of South Sudan.A movie filmed in South Sudan by two German Journalists was also exhibited at the event as the South Sudanese legendary musician Emmanuel Kembe performed the best of South Sudanese music.The event was attended by a considerable number of South Sudanese community living in different parts of the Federal Republic of Germany.
