South Sudanese citizens who require emergency assistance may call South Sudan Embassy in Berlin
during business hours at +49(30)206 4459-15. For after business hours emergencies, please call the
Embassy duty officer at 016090930649. Please note that the Embassy duty officer should be
contacted only in the case of true emergencies in which the safety of a South Sudanese citizen is under threat. This includes the death or arrest of South Sudanese citizen as well as medical emergencies.
South Sudanese citizens who require emergency assistance and come to the Embassy during business hours will be assisted by the consular staff without an appointment.

Applying for South Sudanese Passport
Applications for a South Sudanese passport can only be submitted and processed directly by Ministry of
Interior, Department of Immigration and Passports. Therefore all South Sudanese Citizens wishing to obtain
a South Sudanese Passport are directed to travel to South Sudan to process their passport procedures.
South Sudan Embassy issues birth certificates for South Sudanese Children who are born in the Federal Republic of Germany. Embassy is obliged to issue or register a Birth certificates for children whose one of their parent is a South Sudanese citizen these procedure should be done within one year at South Sudan Embassy in Berlin. The fees for issuing birth certificate is 30 USD or equipollent in Euro.
Emergency Travel Document
South Sudan Embassy issues to South Sudanese Citizen emergency traveler document for some specific cases for instance in case of loss of passport or upon the request of German immigration authorities or UN Immigration competent authorities. The below are the requirements for emergency travel document procedures:
• Fill out the Emergency Travel Document
• Provide four (4) passport sized photo
• Provide A copy of travel document (un or german) and german id card
• Provide a copy of A police report (for lost passport) pay the Fee of 30 USD by bank transfer to
the embassy’s bank account.

The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan provides authentication services for different certificates after
certificates have been authenticated by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Office or other authorized
institutions in the Federal Republic of Germany (for certificates and documents issued in the Federal
Republic of Germany). For certificates and documents issued in the Republic of South Sudan the document has to be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International cooperation.
Please Note that Authentication fees for any single document is 30 USD or equivalent in euro.
Travelling to Germany
The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan kindly informs South Sudanese citizens travelling to Germany to obtain relevant information on visa application procedures as well as entry regulations for Germany from the responsible German missions. Please note that a travellers’ cash limit of 10,000 Euros applies. Any cash amounts beyond this limit should be transferred by other means.
